[On Gaius' desk, there's a small bundle of cookies--round medallions with red glaze in the shape of fire on one side. Next to the cookies is a simple, good-sized, leather satchel much like the one Gaius would have back in Camelot, except newer. The note reads: ]

Gaius--what. What did you tell Uther about the Questing Beast?

[He's so bewildered right now, Gaius, help.]

[Blinking at this infernal bracelet. Gaius had forgotten it even existed at points.

Now Merlin can harass him from across the town.]

At what point, Merlin? There's been two of them known to have shown their faces.

[ Right. One more message to be left over these things, then. With Gaius not doing them the courtesy of living with a few loud young men, Gwaine imagines he'll just have to make do with it.

Anything that shows everybody's favorite physician on his feet and in one piece. Stubborn old goat (brave old fool?).

Still looking a little rough around the edges on his part, but he's gotten fully clothed and managed to get his hair back into decent order by the time he gets to messaging. Just a bit later than he'd truly prefer, given how high a priority it's been all day, but at least with the time spent he can hail Gaius as a somewhat presentable human being. Presentable as he ever is. It's the small victories that one needs to remember to count.

Already smiling and everything with that recording to follow up. ]

I would suppose by this point Merlin you should just tell him the truth. He already knows you had magic in Camelot, avoiding more things would make the matter more twisted.

He's not sure if that's a blessing or a curse, though it is a surprise to see Gwaine on the other end.

It's just harsh sometimes to see Merlin twisting himself into knots over it.]

If you had to apologize for getting me into trouble over things, Merlin we'd be here all century. There is nothing to worry about on this end of things.

Surprisingly good for the moment. The world does not seem to be crashing into an early grave, and I'm actually managing to get some work done for the last month. I'd call it a miracle, but I think that might be inviting disaster.

That may have been some time ago, but then the times people remember here are awkward at best. It may be wise not to say much to others on the matter unless you're certain they remember it too.

What sorts of projects have you been working on lately? I've been finishing a potion that I doubt will be all that helpful, but it never hurts to have backup plans.

So far, cataloguing what's here and what isn't. It wouldn't do any good for me to tell someone I can make something for them to find the ingredients aren't around.

We're not at all sure if everyone who is returned home remembers this place or not, so it would do no good to let them know their futures. For now.

That's actually not a bad plan. You can also get some stuff shipped in from Utgard without too much trouble. I'm working on a potion to let someone breathe underwater. It's working for the most part right now, but I wish I could get rid of some of the toxicity. It's just that it builds up in the stomach no matter what, so you get sick if you keep taking it too often.

I would say that was more giving someone a potion to do something like that consistenly will always make someone ill in the long run. But then that depends on what's in it.

You might actually be right. I've considered the possibility that the gill juice may just be too potent to take more than a few times before it gets toxic and has to be purged.
